Happy Birthday to You - by Nicole (Age 8)
Just 30 minutes ago, we were celebrating my Dad's birthday. We started singing "Happy Birthday" but then we paused. Cooper, who was in the den, barked two times, which meant "to you". Because we were up to that part. It was funny and we all laughed. We started singing it again. Then as we sang more, Cooper continued to bark. We certainly wanted Cooper to celebrate but we couldn't let him in the kitchen because he would go "crazy". Cooper was in a party mood. When we finally let him in the kitchen, he ran in. Cooper is definitely a part of the family.

Cooper as a pup. He is probably 9 weeks old in this picture.
Beagles will find the sunshine wherever they can.
Yes beagles do sleep alot.
I took this photo of Cooper out in a snow storm this past February. Cooper loves the snow.

Happy Birthday Cooper (by Dad)
It's Cooper's 4th birthday today. In dog years that is 28 years old. It feels like yesterday that we drove down to central Pennsylvania to pick him out of a litter. From the pictures the breeder sent us we had our hearts set on another pup, but when we met Cooper (at 8 weeks of age) he won are hearts. He was playful, friendly, and full of energy. That other pup was shy and kept to himself. Glad we picked Coop - he's exactly like he was that 1st day, full of fun, energy and love for people. Happy 4th Birthday Cooper!!! : )

The Only One - by Nicole (Age 7)
The only Beagle in the house is Cooper. When he sees a cat he barks "ruff, ruff, ruff". When the mail man comes, he barks "ro ro ro". And when the doorbell rings he barks "woof, woof, woof". His barks may be different but the tone is the same. Sometimes his barks are quiet, sometimes they are loud.
Example of a quiet bark: when a new person that he never saw comes, he will bark like this: "row, row, row".
An example of a loud bark: when a huge party is going on with alot of people, he barks: "ruf, ruf, ruf".
He barks at least 2 times a day. Cooper can bark and we can bark, like this "rro, rro, rro" (in a low tone).
Barking is lots of fun!
